GARDNER, Mass—Melvin F. Miller, 77, of Ancram, died Monday, July 19, 2010 at the Harry Haywood Facility in Gardner, Mass.
Born February 26, 1933 in Northeast, he was the son of the late Milton and Bertha Miller. He worked for the Columbia County Department of Public Works, Copake Division, and for Kimberly Clark in Ancram.
Mr. Miller served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He was a 40-year member of the Ancram Fire Department.
Surviving are his son, William P. Miller of Ancram; two grandchildren,
Casey W. Miller of Gallatin and Courtney L. Miller of Ancram; one sister,
Violet Boyles of Ancram; several nieces and nephews, and his companion,
Lois Bogue of Ancram.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Marion Boyles and "Jimmy" Sherman.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, July 23 at the Copake Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Ancram Firehouse.
