HUDSON—The Columbia County Health Department will offer seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccine to any county resident Tuesday mornings from 8 a.m. to noon at the health department office, 325 Columbia Street, until the supply is depleted. Both vaccines are free and no appointment is necessary, according to a press release from the department.
While there is no charge, the department asks anyone who has Medicare Part-B, Blue Shield of Northeast NY, Today’s Options or Senior Whole Health to bring their insurance cards so the department can bill those insurances or Medicare for the administration fee to help cover costs.
For more information call the health department at (518) 828-3358.
Flu vaccine will not be offered at the regularly scheduled immunization clinics Mondays and Tuesdays from 1 to 4 p.m.
The health department has also received information about H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine availability at the local Price Chopper supermarkets.
The Chatham Price Chopper currently has seasonal flu vaccine only and has scheduled a clinic for Monday, January 11 from 1 to 3 p.m. for more information contact the store’s pharmacy at (518) 392-4695.
The Hudson Price Chopper has both the seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccine and people who would like to get one or both vaccines should call the store pharmacy at (518) 822-0076 for more information.
The best way to prevent the flu is to be vaccinated against it, according to the release.
