HUDSON–City Police have charged a Greene County woman with making 51 calls to the Columbia County 911 Center when there were no emergencies.
Summer L. Smith, 26, of Cairo was charged with 51 counts of third degree falsely reporting an incident by Officer Jacob Hoffman, September 5 at 2:53 p.m.
Police say that Ms. Smith made all the “baseless, non-emergency” calls to 911 over a period of about 16 hours on September 4 and 5.
The County 911 Center assisted police with the investigation.
Arraigned before Acting City Court Judge William Cranna, Ms. Smith was sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond. She is to return to court September 10.
*A 15-year-old Hudson boy, not identified by police, was charged with second degree assault with a weapon and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon by Officer Shane Bower, September 5 at 9:44 p.m.
The boy was allegedly fighting with an 18-year-old boy when the younger boy allegedly pulled out a pocketknife and stabbed the older boy in the right arm, inflicting a cut that required stitches to close.
The boy was released to a third party with a juvenile ticket to appear at the County Probation Department.
*Pablo A. Perez, 16, of Hudson, was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child by Officer James Nero, September 6 at 1:31 p.m.
Pablo allegedly punched out a glass window in the front door of someone’s apartment. A two-year-old child was present at the time of the incident.
He was arraigned in City Court and released.
*Khalid A. Lord, 26, of Hudson, was charged with fourth degree criminal mischief, third degree tampering, endangering the welfare of a child, second degree harassment and two counts of petit larceny by Officer Tracey Newkirk, September 8 at 2:40 p.m.
Mr. Lord allegedly kicked and damaged a door, stole property in front of children and subjected someone to physical contact. He was charged on warrants and held for arraignment.
*Hudson firefighters and the Greenport Rescue Squad were called to an apartment fire at 346 Warren Street, September 3 at 5:23 p.m. Firefighters contained the fire to the kitchen. The County Cause and Origin Team was called in. Greenport and Catskill firefighters were put on stand-by. National Grid was notified to cut the power to the structure. The Red Cross was called to assist the people who lived there. Units were back in service at 9:28 p.m.
Earlier that day, city firefighters were called to put out a fire in a Dumpster in Long Alley behind Bagel Tyme at 41 North Seventh Street at 2:22 p.m. The trash fire spread to a nearby garage. National Grid was called in. The Greenport Rescue Squad was on the scene and units were clear about an hour later, at 3:32 p.m.
Drugs
The following face drug-related charges:
*Raymond F. Seiger, 47, of Columbiaville was charged with fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle by Officer Christopher Filli September 3 at 4:56 p.m.
Mr. Seiger was pulled over by a policeman who knew that his driver’s license was suspended and expired. A computer check confirmed that was the case. Police say they found more than 500 milligrams of cocaine and some marijuana in Mr. Seiger’s possession. He was held for arraignment.
