CHATHAM–An unruly New Jersey man was sent to jail following his arrest by Village Police August 31 at 8:34 p.m.

Matthew F. Micciche, 32, of Trenton was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police say they found Mr. Micciche urinating in a public place. When police told Mr. Micciche they were taking him into custody, he was allegedly physically uncooperative.

Arraigned in Village Court before Justice Mark Portin, Mr. Micciche was jailed in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

*Pedro Valdez, 25, of Chatham was arrested by Village Police on a federal warrant from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Service, September 1 at 12:15 p.m.

Police turned Mr. Valdez over to federal agents who took him to Springfield, Massachusetts for arraignment.

*Angela Morehouse, 30, of Chatham was charged with endangering the welfare of a child by Village Police, August 24 at 8:16 p.m.

Ms. Morehouse allegedly gave a narcotic drug to a teenage girl, causing the girl to become sick and need medical attention. 

Ghent

Columbia County 911 dispatchers called Ghent and Chatham firefighters and the Chatham Rescue Squad to a barn fire at 1651 Harlemville Road, September 9 at 9:56 a.m.

First responders found the building involved in flames. Spencertown firefighters were asked to stand by in their own quarters. According to authorities on the scene, the fire was started by “rodent bomb,” a device used to get rid of woodchucks. Half of the 50 by 24-foot building was damaged by fire. Units were back in service at 11:12 a.m. 

Alcohol

The following face alcohol-related charges:

*Robert B. Sparks, 51, of Liberty was charged with driving while intoxicated, having a blood alcohol content greater than .08% (.13%) and speeding (63 mph in a 30 mph zone) by Chatham Village Police during a traffic stop, September 5 at 2:13 a.m. Arraigned before Village Justice Mark Portin, Mr. Sparks was sent to jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

*Kelly M. Berger, 45, of Chatham was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated (having a .25% blood alcohol content), driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident on Kinderhook Street by Village Police, August 29 at 7:40 p.m.

*Darrel Myers, 37, of Chatham was charged with driving while intoxicated, having a blood alcohol content greater than .08% and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle by Village Police, August 12 at 10:45 p.m.

*Steven Moran, 22, of Ghent was charged with driving while intoxicated, having a blood alcohol content greater than .08% and unsafe start by Village Police, August 12 at 11:19 p.m. 

AUO

The following were charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation:

*Bart Starr, 24, of Catskill was also charged with speeding during a traffic stop by Village Police, August 29 at 1:25 a.m.

*Robert G. Schaefer, 37, of East Chatham was also charged with failure to stop at a stop sign during a traffic stop by Village Police, August 16 at 9:04 p.m.

*Kristen L. O’Dell, 27, of Chatham was charged by Village Police, August 15 at 4:12 p.m.

*Jessie Boyle, 23, of Hyde Park was also charged with speeding during a traffic stop by Village Police, August 8 at 1:50 a.m.
