Comprehensive planners hear from townspeople

COPAKE—The Town’s Comprehensive Plan Committee has scheduled a series of meetings to focus on the needs, interests and perspective of various groups of stakeholders in the town.  The committee has already conducted focus group meetings with local realtors and members of the town government.
On Tuesday, September 8, the committee will meet with representatives of associations organized for the preservation of historical and natural resources.
On Thursday, September 17, the committee will hear from public safety personnel.
Other meetings are: Tuesday, September 29, the building trades; Tuesday, October 13, Copake businesses; Tuesday October 27, arts and culture; Thursday October 29, community organizations; November 10, hospitality and tourism, and Thursday, November 19, farmers and agriculture.
All meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall on Mountain View Road. The public is urged to attend all of these meetings.
The committee will also host a town meeting Saturday, November 7, at which the results of the survey conducted this summer will be announced. The deadline for responding to the survey is Labor Day. Surveys may be picked up and also turned in at the town hall.
