Visit criminal justice and career fair October 5

GREENPORT—Columbia-Greene Community College hosts a criminal justice college and career fair Monday, October 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Colleges that offer criminal justice programs as well as employers will be at the free event. The fair, which is open to the public, will be held in the Professional Academic Center.
“Whether you are in high school or college, if you have any interest in a career or education in criminal justice, this is an event for you to attend. Representatives from both colleges and police agencies will be here ready to talk and answer your questions,” said C-GCC Assistant Professor William DeLuca in a press release.
Colleges with criminal justice programs will be represented, including C-GCC, the University at Albany, Marist and Russell Sage.
State Police; Department of Environmental Conservation, forest rangers, parks and university police; Columbia and Greene county Sheriff’s Offices will also be on hand.
C-GCC offers a longstanding program in criminal justice as well as a cutting-edge program in computer security and forensics, which will also be showcased.
The latter is a high growth field that has attracted much attention on popular television dramas.
C-GCC faculty will be available to discuss details of programs with visitors, including transfer and career opportunities. The fair will also feature colleges that offer bachelor’s degree programs in criminal justice.
