HUDSON–The Columbia County Department of Health has suspended seasonal flu vaccine immunization clinics until further notice due to a lack of vaccine availability, according to a press release issued by the department the morning of Thursday, October 22.
Shipments of seasonal flu vaccine are expected in two to three weeks, the release says.
Seasonal flu vaccine clinics started early this year. In previous years, clinics started in early November. Seasonal influenza usually doesn’t impact Columbia County until December, health officials say.
There is still time to receive the seasonal flu vaccine. People should watch for announcements or check with their physicians in a few weeks.
