Alleged stabber surrenders to city police

HUDSON—A teenager, who allegedly stabbed a man twice in the back October 30 at about 11 a.m., turned himself in at the City Police station about three hours later.
Duhamel Johnson, 18, of Greenport was charged with first degree felony assault and third degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Mr. Johnson allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old man twice in the back near 233 State Street, inflicting serious physical injury. Police found the victim with wounds to his upper torso.
The Greenport Rescue Squad took the victim to Columbia Memorial Hospital, where police say he was listed in stable condition.
Following the incident, City Police began a search for a male suspect wearing a black Northface jacket, last seen running towards North Second Street.
Through their investigation, police identified the suspect and attempted to locate him.
Mr. Johnson later contacted the police department and turned himself in 2:15 p.m. He was held pending arraignment in City Court.
The investigation is ongoing.

*Ernest R. Murray, 47, of Catskill was charged with third degree assault by Officer Tracey Newkirk, October 22 at 2:29 p.m.
Mr. Murray allegedly pushed a 23-year-old woman down a few stairs and pinned her to the ground by putting his knees on her chest and holding her hands. An investigation into the incident began July 1.
Mr. Murray was held in lieu of $250 cash bail or $500 bail bond.   
*Marta A. Eisner, 22, of Chatham was charged with second degree criminal mischief—reckless property damage greater than $1,500 by Officer Dean Rowe at the police station, October 19 at 4:05 p.m.
Ms. Eisner turned herself in at the police station in connection with allegedly causing damage to a big screen TV belonging to a 25-year-old man who used to live with her. The incident occurred in April.
She was arraigned and released.
*Ginnie M. Coleman, 26, of Hudson was charged with third degree criminal tampering by Officer Brent Rowe, October 20 at 12:20 p.m.
Ms. Coleman allegedly threw paint and eggs onto a woman’s car September 26. She was issued an appearance ticket.
*Ronny W. Taylor, 29, of Hudson was charged with disorderly conduct by Officer Anthony Moon, October 21 at 12:39 p.m.
Police say they saw Mr. Taylor scream obscenities at a woman during a dispute, causing inconvenience and alarm to the public at 551 Cherry Alley.
Mr. Taylor was issued an appearance ticket.
*Kertrice R. Willis, 16, of Hudson was charged with second degree criminal trespass by Officer Nicolas Pierro, October 19 at 12:29 p.m.
Kertrice was allegedly found inside an apartment on North Second Street, where she “had no right to be,” according to police.
She was issued an appearance ticket.
