HUDSON—Jeff I. Monkash, MD, a gastroenterologist in private practice for more than 27 years, has now affiliated his practice with Columbia Memorial Hospital.
“Dr. Monkash has been a respected member of our medical staff and hospital community for many years. We are pleased to have him link his practice even more closely to our hospital,” Jane Ehrlich, hospital CEO, said in a press release.
Dr. Monkash will continue to work out of his 2A Milo Street office. He has held a CMH appointment since 1983 as an attending physician and chief of medicine at the hospital from 1996 to 1999.
A diplomate in gastroenterology of the American Board of
Internal Medicine, Dr. Monkash is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.
He has a BA from State University of New York at Buffalo in
biology; was graduated magna cum laude from the University of Brussels, Belgium in the faculty of medicine, and received honors in clerkship and neurology as Doctor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. He did his fellowship in gastroenterology at Albany Medical Center and his residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.
Dr. Monkash has special expertise in esophagogastroduodenoscopy, a diagnostic endoscopic procedure that visualizes the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract up to the duodenum.
