Christopher Tomlin, 35, volunteer firefighter for 25 years

HUDSON–Christopher M. Tomlin of Greenport died Sunday December 20, 2009 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was 35. 

Born June 22, 1974 in Hudson he was the son of Mary Falkner of Greenport and the late Benjamin Falkner.

Mr. Tomlin was a counselor for Berkshire Farms in Canaan and was a volunteer firefighter for 25 years starting as a junior firefighter for the city of Hudson and Rogers Hose Co.

He was a loving husband, father and friend.

Survivors include his wife, Deirdra Tomlin of Greenport; children Brittany N. Maroney of Niverville and Nicole M. Maroney of Greenport; siblings Erica Michaelson of Florida, Lara Falkner of Texas, and Angie Anderson,Blanca Santiago,Jeffrey Falkner and Samuel Santiago all of Hudson; and several nieces and nephews.

A brother, Darren Falkner, died previously.

Calling hours will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Hudson. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. from the funeral home with Deacon Charles O’Neill officiating.

Cremation will be private.
