PHILMONT–Floyd B. Marshall, Jr., 91, formerly of Claverack, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at Pine Haven Nursing Home.
Born November 12, 1918 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Ethel (Simmons) and Floyd B. Marshall, Sr.
He was a machinist with the Grabs Machine Shop in Hudson for over 30 yearsand retired from the Universal Match Factory in 1982.
Mr. Marshall served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his daughter, Claudia Hopfenspirger of Dalton, Mass.; three grandchildren, Jason Marshall of Claverack and Courtney and Jeanne Hopfenspirger, both of Pittsfield; and six great-grandchildren, Makayla, Christopher, Marc, Jr., Kaitlyn, Joshua and Benjamin.
His beloved wife of 63 years, Catherine Marshall; his son, Floyd B. Marshall; his brother, Edwin Marshall; and a grandson, Marc Hopfenspirger, died previously.
A calling hour will begin at noon Tuesday at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenport.
