Margaret Ambrosio, 90, proud member of the Chatham Fire Dept.’s Ladies Auxiliary

HUDSON–Margaret Ann Ambrosio, formerly Chatham, born on September 22, 1919, passed effortlessly into God’s hands at the Fireman’s Home December 18, 2009, after a brief illness. She was 90 years young.

Mrs. Ambrosio was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Ott) Rankin of Hudson, sister to the late Katherine (Rankin) Minkler; Paul Rankin, Arthur Rankin, Francis Rankin and Elizabeth (Rankin) Mahokin. She was happily married for over 46 years to Louis M. Ambrosio, died August 4, 1989. Her eldest daughter, Gale Mary Ambrosio, died an innocent shortly after her birth.

Mrs. Ambrosio was a lifelong communicant of Saint James Roman Catholic Church in Chatham, and a member of the Order of the Rosary and Catholic Daughters, and proudly served as a member of the Chatham Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary for over 52 years.

Mrs. Ambrosio was dearly loved and survived by her daughter Elizabeth R. (Ambrosio) Faust, son in law Richard V. Faust of Ghent; her son Ralph F. Ambrosio, daughter in law Katherine S. (Spillars) Ambrosio of Delmar;, her grandchildren, John M. Faust, his wife Catherine; Christopher M. Faust, his wife Elizabeth; Margaret A. (Faust) Thorsen, her husband John; Louis J. Ambrosio, Benjamin E. Ambrosio, Patrick H. Ambrosio and Elliott G. Ambrosio. Mrs. Ambrosio also had six beautiful great grandchildren, Lucy and Caroline Faust, Rachel and William Faust and Ryan and Matthew Thorsen.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 23, at Saint James Church, Chatham, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Saint James Cemetery, Ghent.
