Jessie Proctor, 86, loved her family

CHATHAM–Jessie (Betty) Elizabeth Proctor died at home surrounded by family, January 9, 2010. She was born January 7, 1923 in Chatham and was the daughter of the late Dayton and Jessie M. Francis Stupplebeen.

Mrs. Proctor later married Robert Proctor and raised her family. She was active at the East Chatham Methodist Church and was a member of the ladies group there and the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Chatham Fire Company. She loved her family and enjoyed her bingo and scratch offs.

She is survived by her son, Berton (Frederica) Poucher of Ghent; her daughters Daytona G. (Ronald) Roth of York, Penn., and Betty Jane (David) Sherman of Ghent; her sisters Dorothy M. Scheid of Largo, Fla. and Joan Healy of Greenfield Center; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Her husband, Robert, and sister Marion Davis died previously.

Family will receive friends Monday, January 11 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.  A religious service will be celebrated  at 1:30 from the French, Gifford, Preiter and Blasl funeral home, 25 Railroad Avenue, Chatham. Burial will follow at Cemetery of the Maples, East Chatham, N.Y.
