PITTSFIELD–Janet I. D’hont, 89, of Hillsdale, passed away Saturday January 16, 2010 at Berkshire Medical Center.
She was born on August 9, 1920 in Yonkers, the daughter of the late Oliver C. and Janet (Rayner) Ineson.
Mrs. D’hont had been employed in the business and guidance offices of Roeliff Jansen Central School, now known as Taconic Hills Central School, from 1957 to 1990.
Survivors include her husband, John J. D’hont of Hillsdale; two daughters, Margaret Schmid and her husband Peter of Craryville and Kathryn Bock of Hillsdale. She also leaves three grandchildren, Jennifer Bock of Albany, Heidi Bock of Hillsdale and C. Matthew Tuller of Albany, along with nieces and nephews.
Two daughters, Barbra Haskins and Janet Tuller, and two brothers died previously.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. William Murphy Thursday January 21, 2010 at 10 a.m. from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Gt. Barrington.
Calling hours will be private.
Burial will be in Old St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Copake Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Community Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 327, Copake NY 12516 or St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 16 Russell St. Gt. Barrington, MA 01230 or the Critical Care Unit at Berkshire Medical Center, 725 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 or the Kickery Fund, a fund established through the Fairview Hospital Nursing Staff used to provide last wishes and assistance to patients.
