Dean Pierson, 59, Copake dairy farmer

COPAKE–Dean H. Pierson, 59, passed away Thursday January 21, 2010 at his residence.

He was born November 1, 1950 in Poughkeepsie, the son of Pauline (Chorney) Pierson of Copake and the late Helmer T. Pierson.

Mr. Pierson was a graduate of Roeliff Jansen Central School and received his associate’s degree from the State University of New York at Cobleskill.

Along with his family he was the owner and operator of the High-Low Dairy Farm in Copake.

He was a member of both the Agri-Mart and Agway Co-ops.

An avid outdoorsmen, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed helping his fellow farmers and neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Gwynneth A. (Oberly) Pierson of Copake; his four children; his mother, Pauline Pierson of Copake; and an uncle, Neil Pierson of LaGrangeville.

Friends are invited and may call Tuesday January 26, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake..

His funeral service will be held Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 11 a.m., also from the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Copake Cemetery.
