Richard Bednar, 52, Stottville Rod and Gun Club member

ALBANY–Richard L. Bednar, 52, of Ghent, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Albany Medical Center.

 

Born November 27, 1957 in Euclid, Ohio, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth (Rardin) Bednar.

 

Mr. Bednar was employed by the Iron Workers Local Union 12 in Albany and Iron Workers Local Union 417 in Newburgh.

 

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

 

Mr. Bednar was a member of the Stottville Rod and Gun Club and a member of the West Ghent Reformed Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (June) Bednar of Ghent; two step-sons, Robert Albertson of Ghent and Shawn Albertson of Pleasant Valley; two grand-

children, Randall and Leita Albertson, both of Ghent; three brothers, George Bednar of Hudson and John Paul Bednar and James Bednar, both of Ghent; one sister, Nanci Sue Bednar of South Carolina; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and a special cousin, Linda Yates of East Greenbush.

 

Visiting hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.

 

After the visiting hours, a reception will be held at the Stottville Rod & Gun Club.

 

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
