Edward Cornell, Vietnam vet was Ockawamick graduate

NAPLES, Fla.–Edward P. Cornell, 62, formerly of Ghent, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2010.

Mr. Cornell graduated from Ockawamick Central School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.

He was a skilled mechanic and commercial truck driver in the Hudson Valley and New Jersey, until he moved to Florida in the 1980s, where he worked in construction.

Mr. Cornell is survived by his parents, George B. Cornell and Laura J. Cornell;  two brothers, Donald G. Cornell and his wife, Carol Schour, and Christopher D. Cornell and his wife, Amy Cornell, and one sister, Eleanor E. (Betsy) Cornell and her husband, James Finucane, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cornell will be remembered as an honest worker who enjoyed good times.

Calling hours are 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.
