HUDSON– A 26-year-old Hudson man was shot in the leg during a fight on the 500 block of Columbia Street.

City Police received a report of shots fired and two men fighting near the municipal parking lot, March 9 at 3:30 p.m. An investigation revealed that some men were arguing near 511 Columbia Street when shots were fired. A man with a gunshot wound to his leg was taken by private vehicle to Columbia Memorial Hospital, where he was stabilized and later moved to a hospital in Albany. Police say the man’s injury does not appear to be life threatening

City Police were assisted by the State Police and Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies during the preliminary investigation, securing the crime scenes and later in conducting interviews.

The investigation is ongoing.
