Willard Morey, 76, former Ancram Fire Co. chief

PITTSFIELD–Willard F. “Bull” Morey, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Berkshire Medical Center. morey obit

He was born March 12, 1933 in Shekomeko, the son of the late Ernest and Mable (Finkle) Morey.

Mr. Morey was a motor operator for Kimberly Clark Corporation. He retired in 1995 after 35 years of service.

A lifetime member and past 1st asst. chief and former chief of the Ancram Fire Co., he was a fan of tractor pulling and  pulled his favorite John Deere tractor in the tractor pulls around the community. He was also an avid deer hunter.

On October 31, 1954 in Ancram he married Imogene B. (Chamer) Morey. She survives him at home.

In addition to his loving wife, Imogene, survivors include three sons, Keith and his wife Anna Morey of Ancramdale; Scott Morey of Canaan, Conn.; Kyle Morey of Ancramdale,; two sisters, Marian Eckert of Canaan, Conn. and Dianne Slater of Ancramdale;  four grandchildren, Jessica Sorice, Bryan Morey, Cameron Morey, Candace Morey; and two great grandchildren, Dustin Young and Darren Morey.

A sister, Mildred Smith, died previously.

There are no calling hours.

Funeral services are at noon Friday, March 12, from the Faith Bible Chapel of Shekomeko, 222 Silver Mountain Road, Millerton, with Rev. Bill Mayhew officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Ancram Fire Co., P.O. Box 8, Ancram, NY 12502.
