Incumbents win in Philmont

PHILMONT—In the two contested races in village elections Tuesday, March 16, incumbents retained their seats.

In the race for two positions on the Village Board, three candidates were on the ballot. Incumbent Trustee

Brian Johnson was reelected with 126 and Trustee Barbara Sagal was returned to office with 113 votes. First-time office seeker Anthony Krein IV received 48 votes.

The contest for town justice was between the incumbent, Rick Tracey Jr., who received 98 votes, and former Justice Robert Lagonia, who garnered 57.

There were elections in the three other villages in Columbia County, Chatham, Kinderhook and Valatie, but there were no challengers listed on any of the ballots in those communities.
