Christine Pierro, 90, worked at Universal Match

HUDSON–Christine R. Pierro, 90, of Hudson, an area resident since 1949, died Wednesday March 17 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born in Southington, Conn. on November 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and MaryAnn (Perillo) Aldi. Mrs. Pierro was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and St. Mary’s Church, Hudson. She was previously employed with General Motors Parts Plant in Connecticut, and later with Riverside Mfg., Nancy Ann Dress Co. and also Universal Match Co. in Hudson.

She is survived by one son, Carmine A. (and Leitha) Pierro of Hudson; one daughter-in-law, MaryEllen Pierro of Hudson; one sister, Julia (and Neil) Palma of Danbury, Conn.; three grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher and Nicolas; and great-grandson, Matthew Louis. Her husband, Carmine Anthony Pierro Sr., died in 1998 and one son, Victor F. Pierro in 1985. Her brothers, Jimmy, Joseph, Albert, Tony, Louie and Jan, and sisters Philomena and Jennie died previously.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday at 11a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 429 E. Allen Street, Hudson with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery.
