Robert Kilgour, 74, won trophies with his Ford Mustang

CRARYVILLE–Robert Allen Kilgour passed away at his home March 20, 2010. He was born on January 20, 1935, the second of the three sons born to James Donald Kilgour, Sr. and Bob KilgourBarbara Elizabeth (Schlagel) Kilgour.

 

He attended Red Hook Central School where he played baseball and basketball and was honored as a member of the school’s sports wall of honor. He continued playing softball for many years with the Over 40 and Over 50 softball teams.

 

Mr. Kilgour enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and after returning home to Red Hook joined the Red Hook Post #7765 VFW.

 

A devoted Yankees fan, Mr. Kilgour was also an avid hunter and fisherman. His pride and joy was his classic Ford Mustang, which he often entered in area cars shows and won many trophies with.

 

His parents; wife Myrtie Ann, whom he married on June 4, 1977; daughter Bobbi Rae and son Bruce Allen died previously. He is survived by his daughter Beth Elise Parks; grandsons Ryan and Cory Parks of Longmont, Colo.; step-daughter Desiree Quinlan; step-grandson Henry; brothers James and Glenn; and several nieces and nephews

 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Burnett & White Funeral Home, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook. The Rev. Thomas Theilmann will officiate.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the memorial service.
