Stanley McCagg, 61, dedicated CMH nurse

HUDSON–Stanley A. McCagg, 61, of Hudson, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born on March 26, 1949 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Donald and Olga (Krott) McCagg.

Mr. McCagg was a registered nurse at Columbia Memorial Hospital and dedicated to his profession.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 until 1978.

Mr. McCagg was a committee member, and former leader, of Boy Scout Troop 102 and a member of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.

He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.

Mr. McCagg was the beloved husband of JoAnn (Garmus) McCagg; devoted father of Alexis M. McCagg of Hudson and Joseph A. McCagg, and his fiancé, Meghan Gooch, both of Huntington, W.V.; loving grandfather of Brooklynn Paige McCagg of Huntington; and devoted brother of Barbara McCagg of Hudson, and Donna Wheeler and Elizabeth Hart, both of Valatie. Also surviving are his aunt, Lavina McCagg, and her family, of Huntington; two nieces, Denise Hart and Meagan Wheeler; two nephews, John Hart, Jr. and Donald Brennan, one great-nephew, Jason VanVakas, two great-nieces, Caitlyn and Emily Hart, and special friends Sharon and Ray Rouse of Hudson, Barbara Elliott of Hudson and Elizabeth Surprise of Claverack.

Visiting hours are 4 to 7 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Bates & Anderson – Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson.

Prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.

Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
