KINDERHOOK—A Saratoga County man was hurt when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into a tree along Route 9 at the Schodack Landing Road intersection, April 3 at 3:13 a.m.
Sheriff’s Office Sergeant William Zincio saw the motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed earlier, but was not able to pull it over. The sergeant was checking the area for the motorcycle when he found it on fire.
The operator, Ryan Goodall of Mechanicville, was thrown off the motorcycle on impact, Columbia County Sheriff David W. Harrison, Jr. said in a press release.
The motorcycle, a 2003 Yamaha, slid about 500 feet before the crash.
Mr. Goodall was taken to the Albany Medical Center for treatment of internal injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident
Sheriff Harrison said that the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
Niverville firefighters assisted at the scene.
