Anthony Kehrer, 87, WWII vet was life member of Hose Co.

HUDSON—Anthony V. Kehrer, 87, of Hudson and lifelong resident, died Sunday April 25, at his home. Born in Hudson on June 9, 1922, he was the son of the late Anthony and Katherine (Padian) Kehrer.

Mr. Kehrer was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army Company B 316th Engineer Battalion in North Africa, Sicily and Rome, Italy. He was a machinist for V & O Press in Hudson and a life member of J.W Edmonds Hose Co. #1 Hudson and St. Mary’s Church.

His wife, Irma (Patton) Kehrer, died in 2008. Survivors include his sons: Anthony P. Kehrer of Castleton, James P. Kehrer of Cheseapeake, Va., Daniel V. Kehrer and Raymond C. Trowbridge of Claverack; and grandchildren Aaron, Patrick and Josh Kehrer, James, Chrissy and Andrea Kehrer, Meredithe and Andrew Trowbridge, Chantelle Scott, Michael and Christopher Rowen.

In addition to his wife, one daughter, Ilona M. Rowen, a brother, John Kehrer, a sister, Marion White, and grandson, Ellsworth J. Rowen III, died previously.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. at McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 429 E. Allen Street, Hudson with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery Hudson.
