ALBANY–Richard “Yubby” Gaschel, 56, of Elizaville, died Saturday at Albany Medical Center.
Born February 13, 1954 in Hudson, he was the son of the late: John and Nellie Grater Gaschel.
He had worked as a mason with the Bricklayers Union #2 of Albany. He attended of the Holy Trinity Parish Church of the Resurrection of Germantown and was a member of the Germantown Sportsmen’s Club of Germantown and an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Surviving are two sons, Nicholas Gaschel of Utah and Lukas Gaschel of Catskill; four daughters, Kelly Osazuwa of Utah, Tiffany Gaschel and Mallory Gaschel, both of Red Hook, and Leigha Gaschel of Catskill; three brothers, Michael Gaschel of Germantown, John Gaschel of Elizaville and Joseph Gaschel of Claverack; two sisters, Phyllis Gaschel of Tivoli and Nancy Gardner of Mass.; and one grandson, Ashton Osazuwa of Utah.
His sister Claire Griffin died previously.
Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home, Germantown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Holy Trinity Parish Church of the Resurrection of Germantown, where a Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Winston Bath, Pastor.
Burial will be in the Nativity Cemetery of Linlithgo.
Arrangements are with the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home of Germantown
