Roger Boice, 81, life member of the Ancram Fire Co.

HUDSON–Roger G. Boice, 81, of Ancram, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

He was born on November 30, 1928 in Hudson, the son of the late Guy and Edna (Louck) Boice.

Mr. Boice was owner and operator of Roger Boice Building Contractor. He also worked for 14 years at Kimberly Clark in Ancram.

He was a life member of the Ancram Fire Co. and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Amenia.

On November 21, 1953 in Amenia, he married Mary Faith (Pitcher) Boice. She survives him at home.

In addition to his loving wife, Mary Faith, survivors include three daughters, Sara Friess and her husband Mike of Castleton; Mary Ann Braig and her husband Tom of Hastings on Hudson; and Faith Worthen of Fairbanks, Alas.; two sons, Michael Boice of Ancram and Patrick Boice and his wife, Alice, of Ancram; a sister, Marjorie Boothby of Ancram; a brother, John Boice of Millerton; and 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Michelle, Mike, Ally, Tommy John, Lindsay, Tim, Taylor, Pat, Nolan, Sarah. He also has several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 5, at the Peck & Peck Funeral Home, 8063 Route 22, Copake.

Burial will follow in New St. Bridget’s Cemetery.
