Three ‘farm’ runaways found and charged

NEW LEBANON—Livingston State Police charged three runaways from the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth with burglary and grand larceny early the morning of May 10.
Troopers were alerted that the three teenagers were missing by Berkshire Farm Center staff, who along with troopers, searched the area. It was subsequently discovered that the boys had entered a Route 22 residence and had stolen an all terrain vehicle, which they could not get started.
The three boys were later seen along Route 20 where one of them surrendered to staff members and was taken into custody by troopers. The two other boys fled on foot.
During an all-night search of the area, the remaining boys were found inside a trailer near the Lebanon Valley Speedway early Monday morning.
Cody Woodard, 16, was charged with one count of second degree burglary and one count of fourth degree grand larceny. James Lombardo, 16, was charged with two counts of second degree burglary and one count of fourth degree grand larceny.
They were arraigned in New Lebanon Court and sent to jail. The third boy, a 14 year old, was taken to Columbia County Family Court.
Berkshire Farm Center staff properly made notifications and assisted State Police in a search for the youths. Police say, two of the boys were from the Adirondacks and one was from Greene County and that they were trying to get to the Saratoga area.
