Michael Moore, Sr., 55, 33 year employee at WB McGuire Co.

HUDSON—Michael D. Moore, Sr., 55, of Stockport, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born February 25, 1955 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Lena (Buffa) Moore and Myron Moore, Jr.

Mr. Moore worked for the WB McGuire Company for 33 years in inventory control before they closed the business.

He was a longtime member of the Phoenix Hose #5 Fire Co.; an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed going to the Racino in Saratoga right up until his death. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing his car at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Mr. Moore was the beloved husband of 35 years of Deborah C. (Mottoshiski) Moore of Stockport; devoted father of Michael (Mary) D. Moore, Jr. of Chatham, Melissa (Mark) Kugler of Valatie, and Amanda (Shawn) Skelley of Valatie; loving grandfather of Nathan and Joshua Kugler of Valatie, Shawn and Mikey Moore of Chatham, and Aaron and Hannah Skelley of Valatie; and beloved brother of Frank Moore of Elmira, Thomas Moore of Hudson, Richard Moore of Hudson, Myron Moore, III of Mellenville, Linda Falgiala of Cairo, Rose VanAlphen of Chatham, and Anna Decker of Hudson.  Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Prayers will be held at 9:15 am Saturday at the funeral home, folllowed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church in Hudson.

Burial will be in the Mellenville Union Cemetery.  Pall bearers will include Michael D. Jr., Richard, Frank, Thomas, and Myron Moore, Mark Kugler and Shawn Skelley.
