Alvida “Maymie” Putz, devoted to her family

VALATIE–Alvida O. “Maymie” Putz, 100, a resident of Barnwell Nursing Home, died Saturday May 15, 2010 at Barnwell.

Born in Brainerd, Minn., June 10, 1909, she was the daughter of the late John and lnga (Asperheim) Huseby.  Mrs Putz was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage and cherished the day of her 100th birthday last June She was an avid NY Giants and Eli Manning fan and was proud of the fact that Eli sent her a birthday greeting last year. She was also a llfetime member of the Order of Eastern Star

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara McGivney (Doug) of Kinderhook, and her son, David G. Putz (Kathleen) of Schenectady; four grandchildren, Michael Putz of Niskayuna, Kristin Putz of Washington, D.C., Tracey Bosley (Craig) of Mooers, MeryKate Hotaling ( Micheal) of Baton Rouge, La.; four great grandchildren, Abigail and Courtney Bosley, Jaime Lynn and Colby D. Hotaling; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband of 66 years, Russell H. Putz, and 9 siblings died previously.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church, 428 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar, with the service conducted by Rev. Janice Palm. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
