ALBANY–Felix F. Gardina passed away May 23, 2010 at Albany Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1929 in Ghent, and was the son of the late Pasquale and Maria Milan Gardina.
Mr. Gardina was a member of Philmont High School graduating class of 1948. He went on to be co-owner of Gardina Brothers Excavating for over 50 years. He was a member of Saint James Church, a lifetime member and past chief of the Ghent Fire Company, a member of the Ghent VFW #5933, a lifetime member of the Ghent Rod and Gun Club, a member of the ’50s Group of Columbia County, a part owner of the Kline Kill Airport in Ghent, a sportsman that thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was an avid flyer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Anne Cozzolino Gardina; his brother, Hugo of Ghent; his sister, Eva Stokes of Poughkeepsie; and several nieces and nephews.
His brothers Claude and Leo and his sisters Ennis and Zefferina DiMeglio died previously.
A memorial mass will be celebrated from Saint James Church on Thursday, May 27 at 11am. Burial will be private. Those who wish may contribute to a charity of their choice.
