COPAKE LAKE—Two area churches host a benefit golf tournament at the Copake Country Club, Saturday, June 19.
Half the tournament proceeds go to buy food for the Roe Jan Food Pantry and the other half goes to participating churches—St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram and the Church of St. John in the Wilderness in Copake Falls. The four-person scramble tournament is limited to 100 golfers and gets off to a shotgun start at 11 a.m., rain or shine. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m.
The registration fee is $115 if paid in advance, $125 on the day of the event.
The entry fee includes greens fees, cart, hamburgers and hot dogs at the turn and a steak dinner following the tournament.
Entries must be received by June 11 and should be sent to Robin Massa at 1005 County Route 7, Ancram 12502. Make checks payable to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
The golfer who shoots a hole-in-one wins a two-year lease on a new GMC vehicle courtesy of Ruge’s GMC in Copake Falls. Other prizes will be awarded to the man and woman who hit the longest drive and to the four golfers who get closest to the pin during a putting contest. A raffle and a 50/50 drawing will also be conducted.
Proper golf attire is required and no metal spikes.
