PHILMONT–The village’s “bigger-and-better-than-ever” Community Day is just around the corner.
It starts and culminates with a fireworks display at about 9:30 p.m. at the Rod and Gun Club on Railroad Avenue. Parking is at Mike Johnston’s garage and the American Legion building; shuttle buses will be available.
In between are a parade, car show, games, sack and relay races, youth trap shooting, demonstrations by law enforcement and emergency services, plenty of food and more.
A full listing of events and a map showing their locations can be had at the Village Hall, Key Bank or the Post Office.
Added to the list of those providing financial support for the fireworks display are the Hudson River Bank & Trust Foundation ($500) and the Hudson Fire Department ($100).
And Ghent resident Al Wassenhove and family presented a $100 donation in memory of his brother, Robert C. Wassenhove, whose birthday, coincidentally, is July 10.
