William Grube, 61, bus driver, church organist

HUDSON—William J. Grube, 61, of Main Street, Philmont, passed peacefully and went home to the Lord and his parents on Monday, August 16, 2010 at Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 22, 1949 in Great Barrington, MA, the son of the late William C. and Mary M. (McKinney) Grube.

 

Mr. Grube was previously employed by the New York State Department of Parks and Recreation in the maintenance department. He was later employed by Dutchess County as a bus driver on the LOOP run.

He loved playing the organ at local churches and was an avid CB radio user. He also had a love for animals, especially dogs.

Survivors include his brother, Robert Grube of Philmont; his sister, Mary Ann Graves of Millerton; two nieces and one nephew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church in Copake Falls, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Grube’s name to Community Hospice, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, 12414 or Columbia-Greene Humane Society, 125 Humane Society Road, Hudson 12534.
