Ruth Taylor, 88, upholsterer, loving wife and mother

HUDSON—Ruth E. Taylor of Hudson died Saturday September 11, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. She was 88.

Born in Copake and raised in Copake and Churchtown, she was the daughter of the late Josephus and Bertha (Hotaling) Shook.

 

For 34 years, Mrs. Taylor was an upholsterer at L & B Products in Stottville and Hudson. She also worked at Universal Match Factory in Hudson and at Orchard Hill Farms.

She was a loving wife and mother and communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hudson. Mrs. Taylor is survived by one son Daniel P. Taylor of Hudson, one sister Dolores Shook of Hudson and a brother Raymond and (Charlotte) Shook of Germantown.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Daniel P. Taylor, Sr. in 2003, as well as brothers; Lyle, Ross, Elwood and Kenneth Shook and one sister Florence Hall.

There are no calling hours. A memorial mass at St. Mary’s Church Hudson will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: St. Mary’s Church, P.O. Box 323, Hudson, 12534. Arrangements are with McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, Greenport.
