Nicholas Hagicostas, 82, electrician, WWII vet

PALM HARBOR, Fla.—Nicholas Hagicostas, 82, of Craryville and Tarpon Springs, Fla., died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Bay Tree Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Akron, Ohio, June 4, 1928, he was the son of the late Pantelis and Anna Hagicostas.

 

Mr. Hagicostas was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division. He was an electrician for Local #3 IBEW and Broadway Maintenance in NYC. He was the widower of Mary Hagicostas, who died June 4, 2004.

Survivors include, his son, Peter N. Hagicostas and his fiancee Joanne D’Angelo of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; one daughter, Sunday Hagicostas-Chuda and her husband Dr. Robert Chuda of Yonkers and Shokan; two brothers, Angelo and (Fotini) Hagicostas and Peter Hagicostas; one sister, Irene and (Jack) Farash of NC; and granddaughter, Vanessa Hagicostas.

Calling hours will be Monday, September 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 21, noon, at the funeral home with Pastor Harry Edenhofer officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.
