Alfreda Donnelly, 91, owned market and liquor store

PITTSFIELD, Mass.—Alfreda Reynolds Donnelly, 91, of Route 22, Lebanon Springs, died Thursday, September 16 at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Troy, September 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Alfred W. and Matilda Snell Reynolds.

 

She was the loving wife of Richard L. Donnelly, who died May 5, 2002 and George Overlock, who was killed during World War II. She was a graduate of Berlin Central High School and Mildred Elley Business School.

Mrs. Donnelly worked for a few years at General Electric in Pittsfield as an executive secretary. She and her late husband were the owners/operators of the Springs Market and Liquor Store in Lebanon Springs for over 40 years. She loved flowers and all children.

In addition to her two husbands, she was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Ann Donnelly, who died at age 13; a niece, Kathy Maddox; and her siblings, Silas E. Reynolds, Laura Hanke and Robert W. Reynolds.

Survivors include, her children, Richard L. Donnelly Jr. and John F. Donnelly both of Lebanon Springs, Teresa M. Keith of Austerlitz; grandchildren, Billy Winters, Jamie Winters and Danielle DesJardins; a niece, Mary Anderson of Wildwood, Fla.

Funeral services are Tuesday, September 21, 3 p.m. at the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 State Route 43, Stephentown, where the Rev. Bonnie Bates will officiate. After cremation, private burial will take place in the Cemetery of the Evergreens.

Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. for visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Valley Protective Association in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown 12168.
