Cecil Davis,Sr, 86, Navy vet, Yankee fan

HUDSON–Cecil P. Davis, Sr., 86, of Hudson, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born October 17, 1923 in Stockport, he was the son of the late Walter and Anna May (Strobel) Davis.

He worked for CONRAIL, Foster’s Refrigeration and as a  janitor at the Universal Match Factory until retiring in 1986.

Mr. Davis served in the US Navy during WWII and was awarded several medals. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. He loved the NY Yankees.

Surviving are two sons, Cecil P. Davis, Jr, of Hudson and John M. Davis of Niverville, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy C. (Bialoskurski) Davis and his brother, Lawrence Davis.

Calling hours are Monday, September 27, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, 110 Green Street, Hudson. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
