LIVINGSTON—Wallace Lodge Stock died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness.

Born September 5, 1922 in Albany, he was the son of the late Henry W. and Ruth Lodge Stock.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Florence Johnston Stock and his children Susan (John) Heins, Nancy Stock and Wallace H (Elaine) Stock and grandson Christopher Heins. He is predeceased by his brother Richard H. Stock.

Mr. Stock graduated from Albany High School and attended Union College.  He served in the army on Attu, Aleutian chain, Pacific theater in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945.

He was employed by Yager Pontiac in Albany for many years. He retired from BOCES where he taught mechanics. He loved fishing, tying his own flies, camping and hiking. Mr. Stock was an artist, sold many paintings and taught classes.

Services and burial are private and under the direction of the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home, Chatham.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trout Unlimited or the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Mr. Stock. Special thanks to Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care and to Community Hospice for their help and support.
