Dawn McDonald, 39, executive chef, Hudson High grad

HUDSON—Dawn M. McDonald of Hudson died suddenly Tuesday, October 5 at her home. She was 39.

Born in Hudson October 6, 1970, she was the daughter of John W. Jr. and Karen A. (Hewett) McDonald of Hudson.


She was a 1988 graduate of Hudson High School and graduated from Johnson & Wales College in Providence, RI in 1990. She was an executive pastry chef in Boston, Mass., Boca Raton Country Club, Boca Raton, FL, East Carolina University Greenville, NC, and also the Ithaca Bakery in Ithaca.

In addition to her parents, Ms. McDonald is survived by her maternal grandmother Evelyn Hewett of Esperance (Schoharie Co.); one sister, Debbie McDonald of Hudson; nephews Timothy Nichols Jr. and Landen Garrison of Hudson; aunts and uncles, Susan and Tom Buckley, Temple and Jeremy Wilson, Robin and Murphy Schrom.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jaron Halsted of Rock Solid Church Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at Mt.
