SCHENECTADY—Brian K. “House” DeGiorgio, 33, (a/k/a Soprano) of Stanley Street died the evening of October 7 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
Born in Troy, February 14, 1977, Mr. DeGiorgio was a 1995 graduate of Berlin Central High School.
He worked for more than seven years at Hilltown Pork, Inc. in Canaan, drove truck for Schwan’s for three years and was very proud to receive his HAZMAT endorsement on his license to work for the Miller Environmental Group in Selkirk as a driver. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan, loved to play basketball and enjoyed cooking on the grill. His greatest love was for his children.
Survivors include his wife, Daphne Mohammed-DeGiorgio; his father, Brian P. DeGiorgio of Cohoes; his mother and step-father, Mary L. and David Young of Johnsonville; his children, Anna-Faith, Brian Wesley, Elizabeth G. and Kasey Allen DeGiorgio, Brian Jr. and David Doohan; his siblings, Scott A. (Anna) DeGiorgio of Berlin, Emily L. and Jeremiah T. DeGiorgio both of Cohoes, David R. (Jaime) Young Jr. of Wynantskill, Keith P. (Dawn) Young of Johnsonville; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Mr. DeGiorgio’s life will be held Monday, October 11 at 7 p.m. in the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where Rev. John Koletas of Grace Baptist Church in Troy will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home for visitation Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Eagle Mills Cemetery, Garfield Road, Eagle Mills. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 272, Petersburgh, 12138.
