PHILMONT –William Krattinger, historic preservation program analyst at New York State Historic Preservation Office will provide an overview of the state Historic Preservation Office and its programming Wednesday, October 13, at 7 p.m. at the Karen A. Garafalo Cultural Center at the Philmont Library, 101 Main Street.
His talk will focus on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), the manner in which properties are evaluated for NRHP designation, and the benefits of NRHP designation, particularly in relation to potential tax credit and grant programs.
The program will include a general overview of historic preservation and why it’s important, and its potential benefit to Philmont and other local communities. The talk will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
