HUDSON—Elizabeth Blume, 98, of Ghent died Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born in New York City April 16, 1912, one of 13 children of Thomas and Margaret Mitchell of Glasgow, Scotland.
She was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and worked for many years for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in their retirement office. She also worked as a legal secretary in the offices of Shafto and Associates, a firm specializing in admiralty law.
Ms. Blume is survived by her children, Arthur Blume of Laurel, MD., Jean Blume of Ghent and Peter Blume of New York City; and one grandchild, Christopher Blume of New York City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Gary Gelfenbien, Wednesday, December 1, 11 a.m. at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Chatham.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday, November 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the French, Gifford, Preiter & Blasl Funeral Home in Chatham.
