Dorinda Brandt, 47, child care provider
HUDSON—Dorinda Brandt, 47, of Hudson, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at home.
Born November 15, 1963 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Faye (Wagner) Brandt.
She was a child care provider in her home.
Surviving are: her children, Robert, Jr., John, Crystal and Christopher Anderson, Tina Brandt, William Hernandez, Dominque and Addison Geer, and Rihanna Brandt; a brother, Roy Brandt, Jr.; four sisters, Joy and Terri Brandt, Debbie Hernandez, and Melissa Delgado-Jimenez; six grandchildren; two beloved friends, Collington Hariott and Barbara Hall; the father of her children, Robert Anderson, Sr., and a host of step-brothers and sisters and family.
Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m. Monday, March 28 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.
Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.
Antoinette Tamburro, 70, banker, laughed a lot
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL—Antoinette M. Tamburro, 70, of Barnegat, NJ, died peacefully Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.
Born in Hudson, June 13, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Porreca) Pierro.
After getting married in 1961, she and her husband moved to New Jersey. There she enjoyed a successful career in the banking industry holding positions of manager and vice president, until her retirement in 2004.
She also dedicated her time to many professional and charitable organizations. She enjoyed living by the beach for several years and loved having many gatherings at their home with her cherished family and friends. Mrs. Tamburro always had a smile on her face and her arms outstretched, ready to greet you. She lived her life well, laughed a lot and loved with all her heart. She has now entered the eternal light and love she so deserves. She will be in our hearts forever.
She was a beloved wife of 49 years to her husband Joseph Tamburro; devoted mother to her sons, Michael (Wendy) Tamburro and Daniel (Lynn
Rae) Tamburro; and loving grandmother to her grandchildren, Luke and
Marissa Tamburro. She is also survived by her loving brother Frank (Dolores) Pierro; her aunt, Nettie Shallow; as well as many devoted cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday, March 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Greenport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, March 29, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 429 East Allen Street, Hudson, with Fr. Winston Bath officiating.
Private cremation will follow. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.
Francis Grant, Sr., 75, Navy man, construction worker
BENNINGTON, VT—Francis “Frank” John Grant Sr., of Cherry Plain passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center after a brief illness.
A resident of the area since October of 1961, he was born in Port Henry, December 6, 1935 to the late Agnes Grant. He was the foster child of the late Lester and Mary Weise. He was raised in the Roman Catholic faith.
Mr. Grant graduated from Keene Valley Central School in 1954. He enlisted in the US Navy in January of 1955. He served for four years as a yeoman third class personnel clerk and chauffeur on the attack carrier USS Intrepid and the USS Ducksberry Bay. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
On June 6, 1962, Mr. Grant married the former Janice Wager in Lebanon Springs. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of North American Local #190 in Glenmont from 1963 until his retirement in 1995. He worked for Torrington Construction in Keeseville, Lane Construction, D.A. Collins, Aborrio and spent 17 years with Callanan Industries.
Mr. Grant was a former constable for the Town of Stephentown, a member of the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Veterans of the Stephentown area. In retirement, Mr. Grant could be seen anytime on his riding mower or on his hands and knees meticulously caring for his home on Route 22. A blow of a horn would always get a wave back from Mr. Grant. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, playing cards with the Thursday night crew, spending time with family and friends, and the winter months in Florida. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Janice W. Grant; his two sons, Francis J. Grant, Jr. and Cyril A. (Mary M.) Grant all of Stephentown; his grandchildren, Eric F., Sarah A. and Samantha L. Grant; a foster brother, Don (Marilyn) Weise of Howe’s Cave; along with many co-workers and friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerry Grant.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28 at 11 a.m. in the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 State Route 43, Stephentown, where the Rev. Trygve Tomlinson will officiate. Interment with full military honors will follow in Berlin Community Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home during calling hours Sunday, March 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. A Catholic vigil service will be held at 5 p.m.
