Anna Hempstead, 71, mother, grandmother
KINGSTON—Anna Hempstead, 71, of Niverville, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Kingston Hospital.
She is survived by her three daughters, two sons, her sister and several loving grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, June 18 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Valatie. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, 2 p.m. with the Reverend Joseph Falletta officiating.

Albert Andrew, 72, heavy equipment operator, devoted family man
SARATOGA SPRINGS—Albert H. Andrew, 72, of Stillwater, a former resident of the Berlin area, died Sunday, June 12 at Wesley Health Care Center.
Born in Hoosick Falls,March 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Cottrell Andrew.
A 1957 graduate of Hoosick Falls High School, Mr. Andrew was raised in White Creek and moved to Berlin in the early 1970s. He worked briefly for the Town of Petersburgh. He was a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Berlin for many years and retired in 2002. In retirement, he worked for Greene’s Farm in Cherry Plain until moving to Stillwater in 2008.
Mr. Andrew was a wonderful man, a hard worker, an animal lover and above all a devoted father and grandfather. He was predeceased by a sister, Pat Andrew.
Survivors include: his children, Albert G. (Nicole Bedford) Andrew of Berlin, Bill J. (Brenda) Andrew of Stillwater, Sarah R. Andrew of Cropseyville; grandchildren, Courtney Andrew, John Browe, Damian Andrew, Shelly Andrew, Jacob Andrew, Dustin Andrew; and his former wife, Wanda Stanley Moon.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 16, 2 p.m. at the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, where the Rev. Matthew Olsen will officiate. Interment will follow in the Berlin Baptist Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home for calling hours, Thursday starting at noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be sent to the funeral home to help them with funeral expenses.
George Sitser, 86, decorated WWII vet, worked for Atlas Cement
HUDSON—George W. Sitser, 86, of Hollowville, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Community Hospice at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
Born April 19, 1925 in Catskill, he was the son of John and Josephine (Klum) Sitser.
He was a front-end loader operator at the Atlas Cement Company for 30 years before retiring. He also worked in other capacities for that company.
Mr. Sitser proudly served in the US Army during World War II with the 349th Infantry of the 88th Division in Italy, earning the Good Conduct Medal, the EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, and the WWII Victory Medal. He was an ammunition bearer in a heavy machine gun squad and saw action in the Italian campaigns.
He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sitser is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Adaline (Coon) Sitser of Hollowville; his devoted children, Robert J. Sitser and his wife, Deborah, of Craryville and Linda J. Wolfe of Hollowville; his loving grandchildren, Robert V. Sitser of Ghent, Tiffany Cantu of Valatie, Mary Jo Burger of Hudson, Danielle Kush of Delmar, Kimberly Bowen of Johnsonville and Todd Wolfe of Sandy Creek; three sisters, Vera Herben of Hudson, Lucille Sitser of Kingston and Theresa Schermerhorn of New York City; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Florence Metz and Mary Guilanelli and his son-in-law, Joseph Wolfe.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson.
Services will be held Friday, June 17, 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery.

Emily Reidy, 88, executive secretary
ALBANY—Emily A. Reidy, 88, of 58 Payn Avenue, Chatham, formally of Ft. Pierce, FL and Farmingdale, passed away peacefully June 12, 2011 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness, embraced by her loving family. Born in Bayside, March 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Zudlow) Adamchik.
She was the beloved wife of 67 years to James D. Reidy, Sr., who preceded her in passing, April 30, 2010. Mrs. Reidy was a lifelong New Yorker, graduating from Bayside High School in 1941.
She retired from Nassau County Medical Center in 1984, after 20 years as executive secretary to the chief of medicine.
She is survived by: her three children, sons James Jr. (Susan) and William (Catherine) and daughter Maryellen (Leo); six grandchildren, James III of Baltimore, MD, Mathew of Farmingdale, Jonathon of University Heights, OH, Sheila of South Bend, IN, Patrick McMahon of Ghent and Shane McMahon of Boston, MA; and many nephews and nieces.
