Eddie Brockington, Jr., 62, handyman, beloved son

HUDSON—Eddie L. Brockington, Jr., 62, of Hudson, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born June 20, 1949 in Deland, Fla., he was the beloved son of Elinora Brockington of Florida and the late Eddie Brockington, Sr.

He was a self employed handyman in Hudson.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Brockington is survived by six brothers, Freddie, Larry, Gary, Arthur and Alfonso, all of Florida, and Chester of California; three sisters, Ollie, Rhetha and Delores, all of Florida; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Manisha Brandt of Valatie, and a special friend, Helen Joyce Geer of Hudson.

Calling hours are noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, July 3 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.

Carroll Patzwahl, 69, life member of A.B. Shaw

HUDSON—Carroll J. Patzwahl, 69, of Hudson, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Firemen’s Home, where he had been a resident for 17 years.

Born May 30, 1942 in Claverack, he was the son of the late William and Katherine (Buckley) Patzwahl.

Mr. Patzwahl worked at COARC in the assembly department. He was a life member of the A.B. Shaw Fire Company for more than 50 years and was the caretaker for the Claverack Reformed Cemetery. He was always willing to help anyone in his neighborhood when they needed anything.

He is survived by: two brothers, Donald (Marion) Patzwahl of Greenport and William (Sondra) Patzwahl of Claverack; three nephews, David of Canaan, Jeffrey of West Taghkanic and Scott of Valatie; two nieces, Laurie Nicholson and Terry Abatecola, both of Claverack; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Calling hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 4 at the Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Firemen’s Home Cemetery.

James Clifford, 73, Yankees, Giants fan, worked at L&B

HUDSON—James W. Clifford, 73, of Cottage Place, Stottville died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.

Born in Malone, October 7, 1937, he was the son of the late Robert Clifford and Pauline (Lepage) Gaylord Clifford.

Mr. Clifford was employed by L & B Products in Hudson for 50 years, retiring in 2006. He was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan and loved camping, especially with his grandsons. He was also the former president of the IUE.

He is survived by: his wife, Marsha A. (Williams) Clifford of Stottville; three children, James W. Clifford Jr., Judy Wahlers (Duane) and Debbie Clifford (James Gabriel) all of Stottville; five siblings, Richard Clifford of Texas, Mary Gaylord of Stottville, John Gaylord of North Carolina, Mark Gaylord of Philmont and Edward Gaylord of Utah; two grandsons, Duane Wahlers, Jr. and Raymond Wahlers; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 2, noon at St. John the Baptist Church, Route 9, Valatie with the Reverend Frank O’Connor officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie.

Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Route 9, Valatie. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Greenport Rescue Squad or the Stottville Fire Company.
