Dan Elliott, 71, carpenter, fireman

ANCRAM—Dan H. Elliott, 71, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 at home.

He was born in Morris, December 6, 1939, the son of Adrian and Harriett (Weidman) Elliott.

Mr. Elliott was a restoration carpenter for the state of New York. He also enjoyed working on a dairy farm.

He was a member of the Ancram Fire Company, St. John’s Lutheran Church Council and a former Ancram Town Justice.

On July 30, 1960 in Ancram, he married Joann (Sigler) Elliott, who survives at home.

In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: a daughter, Lisa Drivas of Stottville; two sons, Jeff Elliott of Clifton Park and Todd Elliott of Ancram; three brothers, Charles Elliott of Stottville, Wally Elliott of Ghent and Doug Elliott of Edmeston; five grandchildren, Kelly, Nikki, Raymond, Rachel and Amber; and one great-granddaughter, Miranda.

He was predeceased by a sister, Juanita and three brothers, Carl, Jerry, and Roger.

There are no calling hours.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, August 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram, with the Reverend Mark Frickey officiating.

A reception followed at the Ancram Fire Company. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Ancram 12502. Arrangements were with the Peck and Peck Funeral Home.

Nora Walthour, 64, operating room tech

BRONX—On August 1, 2011, at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, God called his beloved angel Nora Walthour.

She was born June 9, 1947 in Waynesboro, Georgia, to the late Albert and Willie Mae (Godbee) Walthour.

She completed her formal education in Hudson and lived in Flushing.

Ms. Walthour worked at St. John’s Hospital as an operating room technician until retiring in 2009. She was a member of the ASPCA, Cancer Society and a longtime contributor to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in Manhattan.

Ms. Walthour leaves to cherish her memory, Jacob and Douglas Walthour of Hudson, Donald Walthour of Cookstown, NJ, Monica Ortega-Porras of

Jackson Heights, Gene “Chubby” Walthour of Albany and Barbara “Teppy” Walthour of Spring Hill, TN, along with many nieces, nephews and great friends from work.

She was predeceased by her sister, Paulette (Walthour) Robinson, Alberta (Sue) Walthour and brother, Lloyd Sullivan.

Services will be held at the Bates and Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home, Hudson at noon, Friday August 5, 2011.
