Sarah Leshner, 93, teacher
GT. BARRINGTON, MA—Sarah B. Leshner, 93 of Copake Lake and Delray Beach, FL passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Fairview Commons.
She was born November 2, 1917 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Samuel and Ida Barishnekoff.
Mrs. Leshner was a local resident since 1969 and spent the winters in Florida. Previous to moving to Copake Lake, she resided in Bronx with her late husband Morris Leshner, who predeceased her in 1998.
A retired teacher, Mrs. Leshner was employed by the New York City Board of Education.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Leshner of Nanuet and Mark Leshner of Croton-on-Hudson, along with three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday August 7, 2011 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home in Copake, with Rabbi Daniel Fried officiating.
Interment followed in Beth David Cemetery, Elmont.

Susan Feenstra, CFO at the UN, hoped for world peace
HILLSDALE—Susan Mills Feenstra of Hillsdale died August 4, 2011 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Until the end, she confronted her illness with courage and the determination to live.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Feenstra; family in the United States and Europe and numerous friends.
Prior to her retirement, she was chief financial officer at the United Nations in New York. She was admired by her colleagues and was an ardent believer in the quest for world peace.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Roeliff Jansen Community Library, Doctors without Borders and the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires.

Memorial service set for Mrs. Cox
GHENT—A memorial service for Gloria Schermerhorn Cox, 87, of Philmont will be held Saturday, August 13, 2011, 1 p.m. at the Philmont Reformed Church. Interment will follow at the Ghent Union Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Whitestone Cafe.
Mrs. Cox died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
