Chatham elects Packet, Morrell

CHATHAM–Lenore Packet and Adrienne Morrell, neither of whom has held public office before, easily defeated incumbent Trustee George Grant and former Mayor Paul Boehme for the two open seats on the Village Board.

The unofficial results Tuesday night showed Ms. Packet was the leading vote getter, with 319, followed by Ms. Morrell, with 306. Mr. Grant received 188 votes, Mr. Boehme 179.

Both Ms. Packet and Ms. Morrell ran on the Chatham United Party, which is the ballot line on which Mayor Tom Curran and Trustee Joanne DelRossi won their seats on the board last year. The results of Tuesday’s election give Chatham a firm majority on the board in the year ahead.
