Eve Greene (1940 – 2012)

CHATHAM—Eve Greene, 72, of Route 295, Chatham died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at her residence.

She was born May 3, 1940.

Ms. Greene was predeceased by her longtime companion, Judy Harvey, who died in 2006. She is survived by her dear friends, Chris and Bruce Benton and Ken and Pam Sperl.

There are no calling hours. Inurnment will be in the the family plot in the Churchtown Cemetery.

John Bishop (1942 – 2012)

HUDSON—John (Jack/Archie) Robert Bishop died June 14, 2012 at Columbia Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born April 7, 1942 in Poughkeepsie, raised his family in Livingston and retired there from the Metro North Rail Road after 30 years of dedicated service.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, who served as a mapmaker and received a Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid hunter and bowler in his younger years. One of his favorite quotes was, “John Wayne didn’t drink no tea!”

He is survived by: his loving wife of 39 years, Dawn; his children, Lori Day of Red Hook, Bob Bishop of Stottville and Michelle Heath of Livingston; his sons-in-law, Sean Day and Allen Heath; daughter-in-law, Marsha Corbett; his grandchildren, Chelsea VanDeusen, John Day, Jarad Day, Mazzie Shultis, Harmony Bishop, Maura Naughton, Kristopher Bishop, Damon Simmons and Haylee Simmons; sister-in-law, Sue Bishop; nephews, Patrick, J.V. and John; his cousin, Frank and his favorite nurse, Justine.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Lloyd Bishop, his older brother, William and his faithful dog, Buddy.

The laughter that he brought to others from his wicked sense of humor will be deeply missed.

A celebration of his life was held Monday, June 18 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown. Burial with full military honors provided by the U.S. Army followed in the Rhinebeck Cemetery.

Memorial donations are requested the Cavell Cancer Treatment Center, 69 Prospect Avenue, Hudson 12534.

Joan Steuhl (1934 – 2012)

GERMANTOWN—Joan S. Steuhl, 77, of Germantown died Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Germantown.

Born October 8, 1934 in West Point, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Staples) Krezmin.

Before she retired, she was a caretaker for more than 11 years at Taconic Farms in Germantown. She enjoyed Bingo and crafts. Ms. Steuhl was also the former secretary and treasurer of the Tripple R Bowling League at the Rolin Lanes in Red Hook.

Survivers include: two sons, John (Cheryl) Steuhl of Germantown and Joseph (Maria) Steuhl of Elizaville; a sister, Patricia Myer of Germantown; two grandchildren, Jeremy (Brigette) Steuhl and Tracey (Jason) Meacher; three great grandchildren, Emma, Nina Meacher, Makenzie Steuhl; two nieces and three nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harry, who died August 2, 2003.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at the Yadack-Fox Funeral Home in Germantown.

Services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be private in the Reformed Church Cemetery of Germantown.
